The Ship’s Bell at the base of the church tower was donated by Admiral, Lord Tovey, a Church Commissioner, who had also laid the foundation stone on 12 January 1952. Does anyone remember it being rung?
The “Old Bank House” sign is on the building in Station Approach which housed a branch of the Westminster Bank from 1936, when the shops were built, until… Does anyone remember when the branch closed?
Hinchley Wood’s War Memorial is located in the Memorial Gardens in the middle of Station Approach. If you know when it was erected, please let us know.
Poppy, the Border Collie cross, was scrambling through the fork in the trunk of the magnificent oak tree in Lynwood Recreation Ground between Lynwood Road and Manor Road North.
